I had a wonderful experience at Decameron Aquarium. The location is amazing, right by the water with stunning ocean views. The staff was warm and welcoming, really making us feel at home. The dining options had a good variety, although the buffet could be better. The facilities, especially the pools, were nice, but cleaner bathrooms would make a huge difference. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy the beauty of San Andres.

Rooms
8.0
Our room was simple and clean with a comfortable bed and a great view from the balcony. It was well-organized but a bit small due to the circular tower design.
Service
9.0
The service was polite and attentive. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied, especially during meal times.
Location
10.0
The hotel is strategically placed right near downtown and has close access to the beach, which gives it a fantastic ambiance. It felt like paradise with the ocean right at our doorstep.
Dining
7.0
The buffet offered a good variety, but some meals stood out more than others. The a la carte restaurants were much better, but reservations had to be made ahead of time.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were nice, especially the pools, with a swim-up bar and beautiful views. However, some areas like the bathrooms could use more attention.

6.4/10

The Royal Decameron Aquarium offers a unique experience with stunning views of the water from its circular tower rooms. It’s a great spot for enjoying the natural beauty of San Andres, but it falls short on family-friendly features and has limitations when it comes to beach access. The ambiance can be quite lively at night, which may not suit everyone if you're looking for quiet relaxation. Overall, it has the potential to be a memorable getaway, but there are definitely areas that could use improvement.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms had a beautiful view of the water, but they were showing signs of wear and tear and could have been cleaner.
Service
7.0
Service was a mixed bag; while some staff were helpful and friendly, the language barrier made it difficult to get assistance at times.
Location
8.0
The location was excellent for accessing local shops and tours, but it lacks a proper beach within the resort.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were hit or miss, with the buffet being average and the a la carte options requiring reservations that weren't easy to get.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were decent, with a nice pool area, but the noise from evening entertainment made it hard to relax.

I spent a couple of weeks here and found the all-inclusive plan quite convenient for a relaxing getaway. The location is simply breathtaking with lovely ocean views and plenty of swimming options. While the rooms were clean, they felt a bit dated and could use an update. The dining experience had its highs and lows, which made it a mixed bag overall.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms offered great ocean views but were outdated with poor lighting and decor. They were also close to the noisy pool area, making it hard to relax.
Service
5.0
Service was a bit hit or miss. Though some staff were helpful, others lacked basic customer service skills, especially at the buffet.
Location
7.0
The hotel is excellently located, just a short walk to downtown shopping. However, construction noise made it less desirable at times.
Dining
5.0
Dining was average at best. The buffet had a limited selection and the wait for service was sometimes frustrating.
Facilities
6.0
The pool area was beautiful but often overcrowded with noisy activities. Overall, the facilities were decent but not exceptional.

6.8/10

The Decameron Aquarium has a lot to offer, from friendly staff who go out of their way to help, to beautiful snorkeling opportunities. However, the rooms could definitely use some updating, and the food lacks flavor, which was a letdown after other stays in the region. Despite some shortcomings, if you're looking for a fun, lively atmosphere with great views and affordable dining options just outside the resort, it’s still a worthy spot.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms are adequate, clean, and have sufficient storage, but they feel quite spartan and are in need of refurbishment.
Service
7.0
Service was inconsistent; some staff were wonderful, but I experienced dismissive attitudes from a few, particularly at the front desk.
Location
9.0
The hotel is well-located with easy access to the beautiful public beach and nearby dining options, which adds a lot of convenience.
Dining
5.0
While the breakfast was enjoyable, with fresh fruit and good coffee, the overall dining experience felt boring and lacked variety.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities are decent, particularly for snorkeling enthusiasts, although nightlife is pretty limited.

6.6/10

The Decameron in San Andres has its ups and downs. On the plus side, the location is great for easy access to the downtown area, and the food at some a la carte restaurants is quite enjoyable. However, many aspects of the resort are in need of improvement, from the tired infrastructure to the issues with service. Overall, it offers basic amenities but falls short of a true 4-star experience.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were acceptable but not impressive, feeling more like a 2-star quality with some outdated features and occasional unpleasant odors.
Service
6.0
Service was hit or miss; while I found some staff very helpful, others, especially at reception, were quite rude and dismissive.
Location
9.0
The resort is conveniently located just a short walk from downtown, making it easy to explore shops and restaurants.
Dining
7.0
Dining was a mixed bag, with decent buffets but the need to wake up early for a la carte reservations which could get frustrating.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities felt a bit outdated, particularly the infrastructure and Wi-Fi provisions which need urgent upgrades.
